Pamela Stoddard acrylics

"I work primarily in acrylics and mixed media/collage. My process begins when certain objects, experiences, words or phrases trigger an idea for a painting. That painting may start immediately or the idea may rest in the back of my mind for a long while until something brings it to the forefront again, and there the painting begins. Sometimes I have a clear idea of where I want the work to go, or I may also start applying texture, line, and color until the painting takes on a life of it's own. I am a member of the Ann Arbor Women Artists and The Brighton Art Guild. My work has been shown in juried and non-juried exhibits throughout Michigan."

OTHER INFORMATION AND RECENT ACTIVITIES

• I have served as a judge in miscellaneous art fairs such as The Village Art Fair in Rochester, The Brighton Art Festival, and The Ann Arbor Summer Art Fair.
• I painted one of 10 banners to hang downtown Brighton for summer of 2005.
• I submitted a design and painted a 5-1/2 foot fiberglass bear, which was displayed at the Brighton Mill Pond for summer of 2005 and later auctioned at a Habitat for Humanity fundraiser.
