Printmaking is an art form of creating artwork via printinng processes. In printmaking each print is considered an original or "impression," not a copy, however lithograph or giclee (copy) reproductions may be created any one printmaking impression. Prints are created from a single original surface, known as a matrix. Works printed from a single plate create an edition, in modern times usually each signed and numbered to form a limited edition.
